God is Still Working Miracles

Proverbs 3: 5-6

Do you believe in Miracles? In the bible, we read of many miracles done by Jesus. Each one of us is a miracle of God's saving grace. I would like to share with you what God has done for me.

God gave me a very special promise, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your way acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy path." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Our daughter went to the hospital, when she was 27 weeks pregnant and contractions had started. They sent her home at 10:00 a.m. , but she had to return at 4:00 p.m. the same day. She had to be put on a respirator because her lungs were filling up with fluid. They did not know what to do.

The doctors asked us to call the family in, as they could not say if she and/or the baby would live or die. When the family arrived, we stood circling the bed holding hands, praying for God's complete healing. The entire hospital staff was praying for her. They wanted to deliver the baby immediately but Thom and Brenda made a very adult decision to wait as long as possible to deliver the baby.

One evening, I was sitting in our daughter's room in ICU and prayed to God. I said please give me a sign that they will both be all right. Our daughter's heart rate was staying at 118-120 for several days. I prayed and asked God to have it register 87. In the next 15 minutes, it registered 87 three time - not 86 or 89 - then it went back to 118-120. Miracle? I certainly say, "yes." We just knew everything was going to be fine.

The day soon came when they had to deliver the baby. Again, the doctors said they did not know what would happen. We were in a room waiting and the telephone rang. First of all, the doctor was the only one who knew we were using this particular room. The phone call was a good pastor and friend, Bob Watson. How did he get through, as no one knew we were there? Yes, we are sure God directed that call because it came at the time when they were pushing our daughter back to the room.

The baby was delivered at 27 weeks and weighed 2 lbs. 3 ozs. She was in the intensive care unit (NICU) for nine weeks. When she came home she was on a monitor for three months. Of course, there were many rough days, but God is good. Our daughter and granddaughter are both miracles, and they are doing great.

After this happened, I was in a Bible bookstore one day and saw a plaque with the angel on the bridge, overlooking two children. The Scripture verse on the plaque was; "In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths." That plaque is in my office and I look at it everyday, thanking God for His miracles. God is still working miracles today!

I am a different person now, as God gives me my priorities each day and He guides me each day. I am so thankful He saved me, sanctified me and called me to serve Him.

My prayer is that you have a personal relationship with my Jesus.
