"We Will be Presented with Joy"

by

Cheryl Lyle

"To Him who is able.to present you.with great joy -

to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Jude vv. 24, 25 (NIV)

Joy is a recurring theme throughout the Scriptures. Even in the solemnity of the Upper Room, before going down to Gethsemane, Jesus spoke of his joy, anxious that his disciples would possess and be fulfilled by it. (John 15:11) What a tremendous value Jesus has placed upon us that He should find such joy in our redemption and present us on that great day without fault and with joy!

When our souls are free from the demands of the laws and consciously living in an atmosphere of faith and dependence upon our heavenly Father, joy is a natural consequence. An awareness of the enormous resources, which are available to us through grace and faith, also allows the joy of the Lord to be experienced and expressed. Jesus desires to present us to the Father, as children after His own heart.

Prayer

Father, I worship you with all glory, majesty, power and authority. You have given me joy unspeakable.

Amen

Editors Note:  The following devotional was written for 'heart preparation' for the women attending a 'Journey in Grace' Women's Conference in 1998.
