Women’s Sunday Drama
Theme:
"Memories"
"Remember God"
A Sunday to Remember
Holiness Meeting
Drama |
Description:
This drama depicts two descriptions of the same worship service from two different perspectives. The characters should be two women of similar age. Cindy should be played with a critical judgmental attitude. Grace is very humble and sincere. Have the characters stand on opposite sides of platform and alternate speaking directly facing the congregation. While each character is speaking, the other should be motionless, looking straight ahead, as if unaware of the other. |

(Exasperated) Last Sunday at the corps? (Rolls her eyes) What a day!

(Enthusiastic) Last Sunday at the corps? What a day!
|
Of course, I’m there to worship the Lord, but then all these kids run into the sanctuary like bulls in a china shop! Kids these days just don’t know how to act in church!
|
It was so great! There were three new families and all of them had children. Some of those kids had never even been to Sunday School before! They were so excited to be there!
|
First of all, I thought that call to worship was going to go on forever and ever …
|
From the very start of the meeting you could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit.
|
Then came the first song. Oh my goodness! I don’t know what happened to the band. It usually sounds much better than that.
|
It was so sweet that the junior band could join in with the senior
band for the first song, “Amazing
Grace”—what a blessing! |
I was hoping the praise and worship would be better, but the drums and guitars were so loud I couldn’t even hear the words …not that it matters; they never choose songs that I know!
|
I’m learning some beautiful new worship songs. You know, a lot of them take their words right from
Scripture. Talk about hiding God’s Word in my heart! And it’s such a blessing to see the young people worshipping the Lord.
|
And what was with that soloist? She didn’t even finish her song!
|
And the soloist was so moved by the Spirit as she was singing; she
could hardly finish her song. |
But at least the sermon wasn’t so bad. The Captain sure put those hypocrites in their place. I hope Joyce and Ann were listening. I’m
sure he was preaching just for them! |
You know, God used the words of the Captain’s sermon to really challenge us all. I felt like that message was written just for me!
|
And who was that guy that came in off the street, lookin’ like something the cat dragged in? I must say he did not smell good! I wonder who let him in?
|
I just love our Welcome Sergeant.
When that homeless man came in,
George greeted him, and found bhim a place to sit. And you know, when the appeal was given he
was the first one at the mercy seat. |
That altar call lasted almost as long as the call to worship. Next time the meeting goes that long, I’m just going to get up and walk right out that door. Didn’t even get home ‘til 12:30! Almost burned the roast.
|
There was a wonderful outpouring of the Spirit. People just kept
coming to the mercy seat. And I couldn’t believe it when my
neighbor went forward. I’ve been
praying for her for years! What ajoy it was to lead her to the Lord!
|
Yep, Last Sunday at the corps, man! (Shaking her head) What a day! (Rolls eyes.) (Sarcastically) I can’t wait to see what happens
this Sunday! |
Yeah, last Sunday at the corps, (Looking up as if to the Lord). Wow, what a day! (Excitedly) I can’t wait to see what happens this Sunday!
